Rocketship Education Leading Holistic Learning

In January of 2018, Norcal News recognized The Rocketship Education System for its successful students and dedicated teachers. Rocketship Public Schools specializes in helping students to recognize their full potential. The non-profit school system serves K-12 students through a network of public charter schools and online education that offers exceptional educators and partnerships with parents to propel students from low-income communities to achieve their academic goals. Founded in 2007 with its headquarters in California, Rocketship Education now has over 1,000 talented and dedicated staff members working together with the students to transform the future of low-income communities across the United States.

The teaching system utilizes a dynamic teaching environment so that all students can learn no matter their learning style, an innovative learning atmosphere to keep students motivated and interested in reaching their goals, and a stable academic experience to provide a constant for the students to excel. The students learn all of the typical material covered in most public schools while also learning about time management, prioritization, and task management. This provides the best environment for student success by giving the students an opportunity to adopt healthier learning habits, while better preparing students for the collegiate milieu and workforce.

Rocketship Schools is built on talent development, personalized learning, and parent power. By combining all of these things, the students are placed into the most holistic opportunity for learning. This keeps students from falling behind and allows them to feel supported and encouraged by their family and peers.

If a student is to fall behind, the personalized learning plan will help to bring them back where they need to be while boosting their confidence and self-esteem to keep them motivated and interested in continuing to reach towards their goals. In the midst of all of this, the student is also encouraged to further develop their skills in areas that they are talented in, compared to the typical public school system, which often forces each child to conform to the material and offers little opportunity to break outside of that shell. This is great for students who are especially gifted in more non-traditional subjects like the arts.
