After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of California and his medical degree from the State University of New York, Dr. Shinto began his medical tenure in California, as an internist and pulmonologist. He has been the Chief Medical Officer for Cal Optima Health Plan and the Corporate Vice President at MedPartners. He has also been the Chief Medical Officer at Medical Pathways Management Company and their Chief Operating Officer.

Rick Shinto was the Chief Medical Officer at NAMM California and was the CEO of Aveta Inc. He has more than two decades of experience in operational and clinical healthcare management. He has been the President and CEO of InnovaCare Health and InnovaCare’s Health Plans in Puerto Rico since 2012, after Aveta Inc. was sold. Penelope Kokkinides has recently rejoined InnovaCare’s team in 2015 as their Chief Administrative Officer. She received her undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and her graduate degree from New York University. She has been the Chief Operating Officer at Touchstone Health and a Corporate Vice President AmeriChoice. She has been an instrumental part in developing health models in every position she has held.

She has also been the Executive Vice President and COO of Centerlight HealthCare and the COO of InnovaCare Health. With more than two decades of experience, Penelope Kokkinides rejoined InnovaCare’s team with her extensive knowledge and expertise in creating and managing healthcare processes.
